Marcella “Cella” Haynes

Kalispel Tribe has been my lifetime home. I was born in Newport WA, we lived with my mom’s auntie Adaline Nomee “Grandma Addy” at this time my dad was in the military. When my dad returned home we moved to the Pink trailer up on the Hill by the community building. When I was 12yrs we got to move to our new house, my parents got our family on 711 N  LeClerc Rd

At age 14 I got my first job with the Tribe’s summer youth work program in which I worked from 1985 to 1988.  At this time I became a young mother and didn’t work again till 1998 at the Kalispel Child Care.

In December 1999 I decided to make a change in life and began work as a security officer at the soon to be Northern Quest Casino,

In 2005 I became a security supervisor. In 2006 my husband and I decided that the best option we needed for me to be a stay at home mom more for our daughter and our son.

So at this time, I applied for the Student Resources Specialist, where I have been working for steady for the last 14 years.  I love helping the families and especially the children when they need assistance with school, athletic activities, ski club, AAU, and much more, and of course the summer youth work program.   It was a tough and difficult time when I applied for the Education supervisor with the guidance and talk with my mother it was easier to take the leap to accept, As of November 2, 2020, I started a new journey we have a wonderful team and most of all they accepted the transition very well, they all know I love structure and organization 🙂 excited for our new and fun adventures.  Working for the Tribe for 21 years has been an honor and I am very appreciative.

Kalispel Tribe is home, and I love how compassionate and encouraging the Tribe is for the Tribal members and our community as a whole. To witness their vision first hand and to process of making it come to reality from the beginning with the elders to today. In my childhood eyes growing up, they have built a traditional Kingdom for their Tribal members and families.

My favorite hobbies are my kiddo’s school sports, traveling, followed by beading, puzzles with my husband, (we have  completed around 58 puzzles together), and my TV shows.

My most favorite event that the Kalispel Tribe host would be the Mark Ripen event and the Charity  Golf tournaments they sponsor and host. I hope one day to attend one of them.

Many Blessings
