Jim Nenema

Jim Nenema, a proud member of the Kalispel Tribe and dedicated leader, returns to the Kalispel Tribal Council with over 26 years of experience serving the Tribe. His journey began in the Summer Youth Program, and he has since taken on roles in Forestry, Kalispel Metal Products, Tribal Gaming Agency (TGA), and Maintenance. Today, Jim holds the position of Senior Director of Facilities at Northern Quest Resort and Casino, overseeing operations that directly benefit the Tribe and its enterprises.

Born and raised on the Kalispel Reservation, Jim grew up with his grandparents, Frank and Mary Nenema, who instilled in him a deep connection to his heritage. After graduating from Cusick High School in 1976, Jim pursued higher education, earning an Associate of Arts Degree from Spokane Falls Community College, an HVAC/R certification from Northwest HVAC/R Training Center, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Management from Whitworth University. His diverse skill set and education have contributed significantly to his roles within the Tribe.

Jim's first term on the Kalispel Tribal Council dates back to the 1980s. Now, as a council member once again, Jim is honored to participate in the critical decisions that shape the future of the Tribe. With a lifelong commitment to the Kalispel Tribe, he is dedicated to ensuring the wellbeing of Tribal Members and upholding the values passed down through generations.
