Q: Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Spokane, Washington.

Q: How long have you worked for Kalispel Tribe?

My first job with the Tribe was a summer youth job back in 1996.  I was stationed at the Native Project of Spokane with Toni Lodge.  After that, I worked for the Kalispel Development office in 2000.  My first gaming job was in 2002 as a slot attendant.  I came back as a slot attendant in 2006. I decided to pursue a degree at this time and I completed three summers of internships between 2007 – 2010.  My first internship was receptionist work at the Camas Path (Airway Heights.) and the following two summers, I went back to the casino for internships in marketing and player development.  Once I obtained my BBA and moved home from Texas, I was hired as a casino host in 2015. I was promoted to an executive casino host in 2017.  My most recent promotion, for my current role, was in march of 2018.

I oversee the day to day operations of Kalispel Casino. My responsibilities include forecasting gaming revenue and food and beverage revenue, as well as maintaining budgets for expenses. The goal is to increase profitability in gaming and food and beverage revenue. I work with management to ensure that our team members are exemplifying Kalispel hospitality and aligning with our core purpose and our core values. I also work with management to implement new options in gaming, promotions and food and beverage.

What I like best about working for the Tribe is being a part of the vision for a successful and sustainable future, through diverse businesses and opportunities, for generations of Kalispels to come.

Q: What advice would you have for younger Tribal Members?

To our Tribal youth, take advantage of all the resources that the Tribe has created for us. Never give up on yourself and reach out to our leadership for help if you are having a hard time.  Set attainable goals and celebrate your benchmarks of success along the way.

Q: What is your favorite event that the Kalispel Tribe puts on?

My favorite event put on by the Tribe is our annual Pow Wow.  Since I was a little girl, I have always loved dancing at our Pow Wow. I love camping at the grounds, falling asleep to the stick game songs every night. One of my favorite events of the whole year is pow wow weekend!
