What department do you work in and what is your job title?
I work in the administrative department; I am a registration specialist for The Camas Center Clinic.

How long have you been employed by the Kalispel Tribe?
I have worked for the Tribe since I was a teenager at summer youth.  I started around age 15 and have worked off and on for the Tribe for the past 13 years.

What are the best things about your job?
The best thing about my job is the people I work with; the community and the work environment is so welcoming it brings me happiness to come to a positive place. I enjoy the atmosphere and the people I come in contact with on a daily basis.

What is the best thing about the Kalispel Tribe?
The best thing about the Kalispel Tribe is that the Tribe cares about all its members and the surrounding community. The Tribe supports and cares for their people and their loved ones. The best thing we do is support and love each other and help bring peace and nourishment into the community. But the best thing, in my opinion, would be the opportunities the Tribes offer their members and the community.

What does your workspace look like?
My workspace is a regular office space with more than enough room to get my work done, it’s filled with pictures of loved ones and bright colors. I might have a statue turtle or two.

Why did you want to come work for the Kalispel Tribe?
I wanted to come work for the Kalispel Tribe because I am a Kalispel Tribal member, I want to work for my Tribe and help build structure in my life and help repay the Tribe for what they have done for me and my family. Without them, my family would be in crisis.

What are your Hobbies?
My hobbies include fishing, nature walks, parks, reading, hiking, swimming, singing, dancing, family gatherings, art, shopping, makeup, and watching movies with my family and friends.

What or Who inspires you?
My inspiration comes a lot from my older siblings, they have always taken care of me and shown me that with hard work and dedication we can accomplish anything. Two of my older siblings just graduated with their degrees and it inspires me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree at Whitworth University.

What are words you live by?
My recent psychology teacher told me “Life is too short, if you have something to say to someone say it now, don’t wait till you are at their funeral saying “I wish I had said this or told them that…” tell them now.” I think they are good words to live by.

How do you define success?
I don’t define success by the amount of money someone has, the size of their house, or the brand of their car. I define their success by the happiness and kindness they show to others. A person who is successful is kind, happy, and reasonable.

What is your favorite event that the Kalispel Tribe puts on?
Every year I enjoy the annual Powwow here, I see family, and old friends come and have a good time. We watch the dancers, eat good food, watch stick game tournaments and enjoy each other’s company.

What are five words (or less) of advice for others in your profession?
Be Reliable.
